Copenhagen makes arrivals easy: the airport is around eight kilometres from the centre, and both the Metro and trains run directly from the terminal.

Metro or train in minutes

The train takes around thirteen minutes to reach the Central Station, while the driverless Metro runs into the city centre around the clock. Both are convenient, clean and the best choice for almost any hotel. With a lot of luggage, or if you are travelling in a group, the calculation shifts.

Private transfer: fixed price and a driver who waits

A pre-booked private transfer means: the driver knows your flight number, waits if you are delayed, the price is fixed before booking, and luggage is included. This is the option for late arrivals, for families needing child seats, and for anywhere farther out than the city centre. If you are travelling light and want to stay spontaneous, you will not need it.

Uber in Copenhagen: back since 2024

Uber left the Danish market in 2017 and returned in 2024, now acting as a broker for licensed taxis. There are also several strong local taxi apps. For getting from the airport, it is a solid option, although the train is hard to beat.

When a private transfer makes sense

With toddlers, lots of luggage, hotels in Nordhavn or outside the city, as well as onward travel to Malmö or North Zealand, a pre-booked driver is the calmest solution.

Car hire: unnecessary in Copenhagen

The city is made for cycling, parking is expensive, and the city centre is tight. For Zealand, castles or a detour to Sweden, a car is practical, but remember the toll on the Öresund Bridge.

How Reisedrop handles the question after booking

After your hotel booking we do not ask whether you want to buy a transfer, we ask how you are getting to your accommodation in Kopenhagen. You see two options side by side: a private transfer you lock in beforehand, and a direct link into the Uber app with your destination pre-filled if you would rather stay flexible. No flood of suppliers, no invented guide prices. Private transfers and rental cars are booked with external providers, and with Uber you are forwarded straight to Uber. Price, availability and booking sit with the respective provider. We are not a partner of Uber and deliberately show no Uber prices.

💡 Save the hotel address as a screenshot before departure, ideally in the local language. That helps any driver more than an app description and still works without a signal.
