No wonder hotels that bundle the rounds into the room rate are booming. We show you how the «green fee included» model works, where it really pays off — and how to spot these hotels at a glance on Reisedrop.

What a green fee really costs

Then there’s often the buggy or trolley, plus reserving an early tee time. If you play five rounds a week, you can easily spend more on golf than on your hotel room.

The «green fee included» principle

Golf hotels with included green fees build a fixed number of rounds — three per week is typical — or even unlimited play into the room rate. You’ll play either on the resort’s own course or on partner courses within shuttle distance. Tee times are booked directly with the hotel, usually at no extra charge. The hotel prices the rounds more cheaply than you’d ever get them individually — a win-win calculation.

The honest calculation: Belek

From the third round in a week, the package almost always comes out ahead.

Egypt: winter golf at rock-bottom prices

The winter value champion sits on the Red Sea: in Madinat Makadi near Hurghada, unlimited golf on the 18-hole course is part of the package at many resorts, while El Gouna and Soma Bay (The Cascades) are in the same league.

Algarve & Mallorca: look closely

On the Mediterranean, «unlimited» is rarer — 2- to 3-round packages or discounted green fees for hotel guests are more common. It’s especially worth it in the shoulder season (March to May, October/November), when room rates fall but the courses are still in top condition. Tip: check whether the included rounds apply to the course you actually want to play.

What to look for when booking

First: the number and validity of the rounds (per stay or per week?). Second: is the course in the resort, or are you taking a 20-minute shuttle? Third: are tee times guaranteed or subject to availability — and are there blackout days for tournaments? Fourth: buggy, trolley and range balls are often not part of the package. And finally: many courses require proof of handicap (usually up to 36).

How to find the hotels on Reisedrop

Only the hotel itself can confirm which rounds a hotel really includes — that’s why Reisedrop doesn’t make blanket promises here. What we do show is verifiable: in the hotel search, you can filter by «golf course» and then only see properties with a course at the hotel. On the golf travel page, you’ll find the top destinations with live prices, and the Reisedrop golf calendar shows you, for each destination, when weather, course condition and price line up. You can then clarify the green fee terms in an email to the hotel — usually answered in two sentences.
